Talking about the feasibility of Coco peat as a growing media, we can broadly classify them under Low EC and High EC Coco Peat for better understanding of growers. 


In usual, low EC coco peat are noted to have EC value < 0.5 mS/cm with pH 5.5 to 6.8, whereas high EC coco peat consists of EC > 0.8 mS/cm. These measurements are concluded after the certified testing procedure, where Electrical Conductivity is calculated. 

 

Low EC Coco peat

Low EC or Washed Cocopeat is washed with natural spring water to lower the EC level. It is the same coco peat used as grow media. Coco peat as an organic, biodegradable material is one of the most sorted and versatile grow media that can utilised in a variety of plant growing in Horti & Floriculture.
